Build A Patio

  • For Techo-Bloc Pavers you need
    1. Techo-Bloc (Click Here for Selection)
    2. 6" 21-A (3 tons does 100 square ft 6" deep)
    3. 1" Sand (1/2 ton does 100 square feet 1" deep)
    4. Edging/li>
  • For Flagstone or Patio Block on dirt base
    1. Flagstone or Patio Block
    2. 2" Stone Dust (One ton does 100 square feet 2" deep) Note: Foundation may have to be thicker if there will be a lot of weight on the patio
    3. Note: Random (uncut) flagstone is sold by weight (see chart below for weight per square foot) Usually you want to go at least 3/4 inch thick on the flagstone, more if it will be holding a lot of weight.
    4. Note: Flagstone should be at least 1 1/2 inches thick to withstand weather and weight

  • For flagstone or patio block on concrete base:
    1. Flagstone or Patio Block
    2. After concrete has hardened, set flagstone or patio block on 1 inch of a 3 to 1 sand/Portland cement mix
    3. After one day, fill joints (area between the stones) with a 2 1/2 to 1 Sand/Portland cement mix
    4. Note: Random (uncut) flagstone is sold by weight which varies by thickness (see chart above for weight per square foot)
